Hotel Luxus continental beds were developed for hotel use and can also be ordered for home. Jenkki 2 was made to meet the requirements of Lapland Hotels' newer city hotels, while Jenkki 3 is the firmer alternative. The main structural difference is the base: Jenkki 2 has a sprung base and Jenkki 3 an unsprung one. This guide compares construction, feel, sizes and prices.

The main difference: the base and the feel
The Bonnell-sprung base of Jenkki 2 adds flexibility to the bed. Jenkki 3 has an unsprung wooden base, with the springs in the main mattress. This makes Jenkki 3 worth trying if you want a firmer feel within the range.
Within this range's firmness comparison, Jenkki 3 Medium is close in feel to Jenkki 2 Extra Hard. Jenkki 3 Hard is firmer, and Extra Hard is firmer still. This is a comparison between these models, not a universal firmness standard. Your body and the topper influence the experience.
If you want more flexibility and the option of Jenkki 2 Medium or Hard, start by trying Jenkki 2. If you want a firmer base, try Jenkki 3 with the same topper so the difference is easier to identify.
What do the beds have in common?
Main mattress: both have a 19 cm pocket-sprung mattress with 250 springs per square metre.
Topper: 7 cm memory foam comes as standard. Alternatives are available, so choose the surface feel together with the spring firmness.
Different firmness on each side: both can have, for example, Hard on one side and Extra Hard on the other at no extra charge.
Legs: available heights range from 10 to 22.5 cm. The appropriate number of legs and support arrangement are confirmed for the chosen bed size.
Upholstery: a wide selection of fabrics is available. If you need fire-rated upholstery, confirm the suitability of the specific fabric.
Made to order: the beds are produced to order, and you can enquire about custom dimensions.
Which one might suit you?
Consider Jenkki 2 if
you want the flexibility of a sprung base and the option of Medium or Hard springs
you are looking for the model used in Lapland Hotels' city hotels; to recreate a particular hotel stay, confirm the topper and firmness as well
you need a standard size such as 210 × 210 cm.
Consider Jenkki 3 if
you enjoy a firm sleeping surface and want to try a firmer construction than Jenkki 2
you are comparing prices: at the time of checking, the 160 × 200 cm Jenkki 3 is €500 less than Jenkki 2.
The topper makes a considerable difference
Both beds come with the 7 cm Hotel Luxus Memoryfoam topper as standard. The Soft version is used in Lapland Hotels' city hotels. Other toppers can also be selected, including Hotel Luxus HR35.
Memory foam is not automatically unsuitable for side sleepers. What matters is enough give around the shoulder and hip and a balanced overall feel. Compare toppers on the same spring system while lying in your usual sleeping position.
Try the bed before ordering
These beds are made to order, so confirm the size, firmness levels, fabric, legs and topper carefully. Also check the delivery, exchange and return terms applying to your order before confirming it.
You can try the beds at the Helsinki showroom, Valimotie 21. Jenkki 3 Medium and Hard are available to try. Book by calling +358 10 321 4000 or emailing info@sisustus1.fi, and confirm that the configuration you want to compare is available.
Compare the models using the same approach
When trying Jenkki 2 and Jenkki 3, use the same pillow and a comparable topper where possible. Record each bed's exact configuration and your impressions separately. This helps you remember whether your preferred feel came from the complete bed or, for example, the particular topper you tried.
