Continental bed, divan bed or hotel bed?

• A continental bed combines a sturdy base, a spring mattress and a mattress topper, the layered construction many people recognise from a hotel bed.
• A divan bed is a lighter and more moderately priced combination, a good choice for a guest room, for example.
• An adjustable bed lets you electrically adjust your sleeping and reading positions.

Firmness, mattress toppers and sleeping comfort

The right firmness depends on the sleeper's weight, sleeping position and preferences. Side sleepers often benefit from a slightly softer surface, while back sleepers may prefer firmer support. A mattress topper finishes the feel while protecting the divan mattress. It can also be replaced later, allowing you to adjust your bed's feel without replacing the entire bed.

Size, delivery and getting started

A single sleeper typically suits a bed 90 or 120 cm wide, while the most common double-bed widths are 160 and 180 cm. A more spacious bed gives both sleepers room of their own.
